Financial Freedom: What a Concept!

by admin on August 13, 2009

Money does not grow on trees!!!!  I cannot tell you how many times I heard this and countless other sayings about money.  How about you?  Have you heard this or other things that gave you a certain perception about money?  Or better yet, financial freedom?  What I’ve come to realize is,  the way we  view certain things in our life,  is a direct result of what was spoken to us at some  point along our journey.   Having financial freedom is something we all are striving to attain.  However, some will reach it and others will not.  Why???  It is our belief system.  The bible tells us that God gave us the power to create wealth. That  means we have what we need inside of us.

I used to be on the side of those who might not ever attain financial freedom.  Then one day I read something  that made the light bulb come on.  Here’s the thing, you can try business after business; play the lottery; apply for promotions and still never attain financial freedom.  So what is the secret, you ask?  Glad you asked and the answer is: You must first transform your mind.  It does not matter the amount of money you make or the number of businesses you own; if your mind has not been renewed or transformed, you will continue around the mountain of lack; woulda, coulda, shoulda and fear. I’m sure you can think of some more.  I can relate to all of these things, but no longer do they keep me in prison.  My mind has and still is being transformed.  What about you?

Want to know what I read?  Here it is:   “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday,  ordinary life – sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life – and place it before God as an offering.  Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.  Don’t become so well adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without thinking.  Instead, fix your attention on God.  You’ll be changed fron the inside out.  Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.  Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you” (Romans 12:1-2 msg).

In other words, step out of the old and into the new. Change your belief system.  If your dreams have been laughed at or talked about in a negative sense, change your enviroment (friends, places and things). You need to be around people who are where you are striving to be.  If you are waking up to the same old routine and you are bored with it, then do something different.   All the money in the world will not make you happy; no matter how hard you try.  You must first  be free in your mind.

Are you holding on to the past? Forgive yourself for past mistakes with money and people.  Stop holding grudges.  You cannot progess if you are stuck in the past. You will not achieve financial freedom if you are still stuck in your old ways. Stop saying, “this is how I’ve always done it.”  Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Make it a daily goal to release yourself from your past; to do something you have not done before; and to celebrate your success.  Financial freedom is a right and  a privilege!

You can possess and attain your financial freedom.  You have everything you need within you.  Free your mind and everything else will follow.
