You Can’t Quit Now!

by Sandra on November 13, 2014

One day I heard God say to me: You can’t quit now!  There were some dreams I was ready to give up on.  It seemed to me,  as if there was some force at every turn keeping me from realizing those dreams.  Then I realized  I was the force which by the way caused me to start laughing. In my mind I was doing everything to see the dreams manifest.  In reality I was hiding behind everything thing that presented a challenge. It was easy to give into the challenge. I got frustrated and just wanted to quit.

Inside each one of us lie dormant dreams and untapped potential—a life waiting to be unleashed. What you love is a clue to the gifts you contain to complete your assignment. Phil 1:6 states “There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day the creator appears.” Your dreams are already birthing in you because your dreams are the assignments God created you for.

Each of us is a unique individual with a specific God-given destiny to fulfill. We each have dreams that only we can carry out. In order to do this, we must take the necessary steps to let go of what lies behind and take hold of what lies ahead. The fact is that most of us have experienced some type of abuse, rejection, or hardship in our past. We cannot erase it. We can overcome it through a relationship with God and working through our stuff.

The foundation for finding freedom from our past and making our dreams a reality is in understanding who we. Experiencing out full potential comes from living what the Word of God says instead of focusing on the disappointments and pain of our past. Once we allow our thinking to be renewed by the God’s Word and cooperate with the leading of the Spirit, We will begin to birth our dreams and inherit His promised land for our lives.

One of the biggest threats to birthing our dreams is a lack of faith. Fear will cause us to lose our faith and not believe in our dreams. It will cause us to walk away from our dreams. We all have fears. Some came from our childhood and others from bad experiences. Regardless of the origin of our fears we must have the courage to confront them or they will cripple us. If you are serious about seeing your dreams fulfilled, you will have to choose between faith and fear.

When we commit to seeing our life through God’s eyes, even if what we are facing seems impossible or our dreams are out of reach, we can be confident that “all things are possible with God. When it comes to our dreams, we have too adjust our consumption habits if our dreams are to fully mature. Our eyes and ears are the gateways to our hearts—just as our mouth is to our stomach—our dreams flow from our heart. Be careful of the people, places and things you position yourself with. Remember God positions us exactly where He wants us depending on what season of life we are in. Be open to the leading of His spirit. If He moves certain people out of your life, remember He is positioning you to experience breakthroughs and new opportunities while you are realizing your dreams.

In this season, we may feel like God has forgotten us, that our life is in a holding pattern, or that doors of opportunity have closed. But if we continue to labor by faith, we will eventually give birth to a healthy dream. It is usually during this intense time of pain that we want to walk away and give up on our dreams. The strongest and longest contractions in labor take place during the transition phase. Too many people abort their dreams at this point of the process because they feel they can no longer stand the contraction and containment. It’s when we are in a place of containment that God does in us what He needs to, so He can do more through us. The key is not to quit. Do not despise periods of contractions; instead realize it’s another vital part of the process. As long as we are alive, God has a purpose for our lives.

I did not quit. I am realizing some dreams now; like traveling and writing for a few national magazines. You cannot quit either! It’s time to see your dreams manifest.  IT’S TIME TO UNLEASH!

With Love and Gratitude,

Sandra
